Where’s Baby B: Wailea, Maui
Our trip to Maui was Baby B’s longest flight thus far. We flew 6 hours direct from Vancouver to Maui, but add airport time and picking up the rental car, the trip was easily 10 hours. It was a test for our family and I’m happy to say that Baby B was a champ! He was patient for the entire journey which makes us extra comfortable for our upcoming trip to Europe next month.
We woke early and went for a stroll down by the water along Wailea Beach Walk. Even at 6am, there were people jogging and getting their sun chairs ready. When we arrived back to Wailea Beach Villas, we were eager to explore the luxurious property. The adult pool was on the water and the children’s pool was up on the hill. We loved the outside shower and the private plunge pool in our villa (it was definitely an added surprise).
Destination Resorts Hawaii provided us with a high chair and travel bed for Baby B and the villa had everything we could need for an infant. A full kitchen, laundry room, and each of the three bedrooms had its own bathroom attached. The only drawback was that the resort had a lot of stairs which was difficult with a stroller. I was very happy we brought our ergo baby carrier!
The Wailea resort community is quite upscale – far more luxurious than we expected. Our villa was attached to an outdoor shopping mall which included stores like Coach, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. Our hosts told us that many celebrities stay in the area and we quickly understood why.
We had a fantastic trip to Hawaii with Baby B. Head over to Traveling Canucks during the coming weeks where we will be sharing our trip adventures.
