Some photos from Baby B’s first trip to Mexico
We still haven’t come to terms with the fact that our time in hot, sunny Mexico has come to an end. So, like most sane people, rather than deal with the issue we’ve decided to crank up the heat and gas fireplace at home and pretend that we’re still on the beach with a colourful fruity cocktail in hand. Sadly, it’s not working.
Most of our time was spent at the resorts, the Gran Bahia Principe Akumal (near Tulum) and the Iberostar Del Mar (near Playa del Carmen), which was a welcomed change of pace. Normally we would venture into town, seek an outdoor adventure or visit a cultural landmark like Chitzen Itza, but we felt like we needed to just unplug and unwind on this trip.
We’ve traveled to Mexico to attend a friend’s wedding and also celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary, so we’ve decided that this trip is all about relaxing and spending time together as a family.
Here are some of our photos…
Baby B LOVED the beach (can we really call him “Baby B” anymore? He’s getting so big!). He spent hours waddling through the soft sand and sitting in the shallow waters waiting for a wave to wash up and splash him.
When he lost his balance he would fall forward, planting both hands deep into the sand. He liked the strange feeling at first, but then he held both hands high above his head, looking at us with confusion and slight panic. He hates getting his hands dirty, so he whimpers and shakes his hands frantically, hoping we’ll come and wipe them off. It’s quite comical.

When in Mexico…Tequila!
This big iquana liked to hang out beside our room. He scared the crap out of us most of the time!
